Draft for review

These pages are being prepared for Riff’s launch. The operating entity, public contact details, and production data practices still need confirmation. They are not yet final policies or a statement of Meta approval.

On this page

  1. Request deletion of your Riff data
  2. Remove Riff’s Instagram access
  3. What a deletion request covers
  4. Verification, timing & confirmation
  5. Other privacy requests

At a glance

Disconnecting an account and deleting stored data are separate steps. This page explains both, including what happens to content already published on Instagram.

01Request deletion of your Riff data

You can request deletion of your Riff workspace information or just the data associated with a connected Instagram account. The intended process is available to all Riff users and does not require access to the Riff app.

A public contact address has not been confirmed yet. If you already work with the Riff team, use your existing contact to make this request. A monitored public address must be added before these pages are finalized.

  1. Use the subject Riff data deletion request.
  2. Identify your Riff workspace or business and the connected Instagram username, if applicable. Use the contact address already associated with your relationship with Riff when possible.
  3. Say whether you want all Riff workspace data deleted or only connected Instagram data. Mention any pending publishing instructions you want canceled.

Do not send your Instagram password, an access token, or an identity document. The team may request limited additional information to confirm your identity or authority over the workspace.

Current limitation: the public request address and fulfillment process are not yet finalized. This draft page must not be submitted to Meta as a completed data deletion mechanism until those are operational.

02Remove Riff’s Instagram access

Use the connected app or website permissions in Instagram to find and remove Riff. If you connected through Facebook, use Facebook’s Apps and Websites or Business Integrations settings, as applicable. The labels and location can vary with the connection method and platform version.

Removing authorization prevents future API access using that authorization. It does not itself delete everything Riff previously received. Submit a deletion request as well if you want stored copies removed. Cancel pending publishing instructions where possible; an action already sent to Meta may still complete.

The local development workspace does not yet provide a self-service connect or disconnect control for public customers.

03What a deletion request covers

A connected-account deletion request should cover the relevant access credentials, account identifiers and profile information, imported posts and media, stored performance and audience data, publishing records, and brand context or other outputs derived from that account data. The process must also address copies held by service providers.

A full workspace deletion should additionally cover the workspace’s supplied content, conversations, drafts, uploaded and generated media, and associated records. Shared information must be reviewed so a request does not improperly erase another person’s independent data.

Deleting information in Riff does not delete your Instagram account or posts already published there. Remove those posts directly through Instagram. If you request only Instagram data deletion, unrelated materials you independently uploaded to Riff may remain unless you also request their removal.

04Verification, timing & confirmation

The intended process is to verify your request, stop relevant future processing, delete the covered data as soon as reasonably possible, and confirm the outcome. Requests must be handled promptly and within applicable legal deadlines; a request from Meta must also be handled under its platform requirements.

Any information required to be retained by law must be limited to what is required, kept only for the required period and purpose, and explained where legally permitted. Backup expiration and provider deletion must be included in the completion process.

A fixed response target, backup-expiry period, and automated status tracking have not yet been established. This page does not claim a deletion has been submitted or completed merely because you visit it.

05Other privacy requests

You can also request access to or correction of information. See the Privacy Policy for more about your choices, or Security to report a suspected vulnerability.
